11 Days of Christmas

This year I have 11 days in Boise for Christmas!  Whoot!  So very happy!!

Before I even got out of California I was already having an Idaho reunion, with my friend Shandra Jeffries!  She was on the same flight out of Oakland to Boise.  I grabbed us both a seat and we got to catch up on the flight home.  It was exciting hearing about her studies in San Francisco- she's studying to become a genetic therapist!  When we landed I got to meet her girlfriend and she got to meet my boyfriend, what a fun way to start the vacation!

For my time in Boise; first things FIRST!  Jake and I had to go watch Saving Mr. Banks- we have both been waiting in anticipation for this movie since we first heard about it.  I enjoyed it so very much, I might have to call it my favorite film of 2013.  It couldn't have hurt watching it at the village at meridian in the VIP seats- always a good time!  The next day Jake spent some time shoveling Chuck and Emily's driveway when we stopped by their house while they were out of town.  Christmas eve morning Jake surprised me with breakfast was the blueberry compote pancakes.  Delish!

Christmas Eve was perhaps the busiest one I've ever had!  I started the day off running 9 miles up the greenbelt, completing two separate Zombies Run missions.  Run one.  Run Two.  I hadn't kept up on my running miles as closely this year, so I was behind and trying to make up the mileage before the end of the year hit.

Unfortunately, earlier in the month (December 6th) a car ran the yellow blinking left turn light on Ustick and ran head first into Jake driving his Pontiac Vibe.  It was demolished.  Fortunately he was okay and he got the money to replace it and ended up purchasing a brand new 2014 Volkswagen Jetta!  It took us some time today to get things squared away, but very well worth the wait.
Once we had Jake's new car, it was time to get ready for the Farkle Family Christmas Eve!  Last year was our last year with our wonderful Santa who has been coming to our family Christmas Eve handing out presents since before I was even a twinkle in my parent's eyes.  Joe Posluszny has been there for our whole family year after year, and we could always count on him to bring us a special present if we were good and sat on his lap and affirmed we were good boys and girls all year.  It wasn't quite the same Farkle Family Christmas this year without him.  Speaking of Farkle Family traditions, this year our pinata was a Lego man.  His head was large enough for my aunt Carrie to joke around like she was a robotic Lego man!  Also, for the first time we had a white elephant gift exchange.  I was lucky enough to get the gift I brought (magnetic words with friends board) and Jake won an actual white elephant!  Bill, my Mom and Cassidy won some silly hats.
It's always sad to me when the evening wraps up, I love spending time with all my family.  That night Jake and I exchanged gifts and took our first Christmas picture together.  I really like it!
Christmas Day we spent in Twin Falls with Jake's parents and older brother, girlfriend and daughter.  It was nice to meet Jake's family and I taught them the Shanghai rummy game that we all play in my family.

Emily sent me a picture of her and Chuck at Abby's house in Denver, CO where they spent their Christmas this year.
The next day Jake and I met up with Damian, Clint, David, Song and Janice for lunch at the Yard House.  It was great that we all got to say hello while everyone was in town for the holidays.  Song and I finalized our plans to go skiing the next day with Cole and Peter.  Later that night was another Christmas back in Boise since Chuck and Emily were now in town!  They'd been in Denver to celebrate the holiday with her family so we are having a small Christmas on the 26th with the six of us (Chuck, Emily, Sam, Sandy, Ross & Jake).  First thing- I had to go for a run on the greenbelt with some icy consequences, and path closures!
We had so many great pictures; I can't even post them all here but here's just a couple of my favorite from our Christmas evening.
Monday the 30th Jake dropped me off at my parent's house so I could borrow their explorer and take Song, Peter and Cole up to Bogus for an afternoon and late night out skiing (it got postponed until today).  We took way too many pictures and even some videos- the shots we drank at the upper lodge were probably to blame.  It was a great and very memorable ski trip to Bogus Basin!

The rest of the week was filled with family time, playing cards and lots of running!  Still had to run 6 more times before the end of the year, but I DID make my goal!  5pm on New year's eve; 1,200 miles -DONE for 2013!  Phew.  That was exhausting!

New Year's eve Jake and I spent the evening with Chuck and Emily enjoying calorie replenishment (as if we'd been shorted the last few days!?) and then that night headed out to see the first Idaho Potato drop!  The crowd was very intense, but the actual lowering of the Potato seemed a little anti-climatic.  There were kisses to go around and then we headed home.  The next day was January 1st, and I'll have been in Idaho for 11 days.  The trip was over and time to go home.  It was absolutely wonderful and I'm so very lucky to have such amazing friends and family to spend the holiday with.

Mike & Debbie's Christmas Party

Tonight I went over to Debbie and Mike's place in Sebastopol for a Christmas party!  Mike is an exceptional chef, so there was all sorts of fixings.  Most importantly, he made his famous macaroni and cheese, sure to help you gain those holiday pounds!  I also think he decorated the tree!?  Their friends Bob, MaryAnn, Mike and Gloria were all there too!  I've spent many a relaxing evening having snacks, drinks and yes dinners at their house.  Always a good time, always great company!  Merry Christmas!

Holiday Cupcakes

Today the CMS team had our annual holiday cupcake decorating team building.  It's been a tradition for some time now, carried over from my time at BSU.  This year we were a larger group, incorporating the AIS (technical team) into the group.  After decorating we take them around the University and share them with our co-workers.  Always a good, sweet time!

Sam, Sandy & Jake Visit

It's almost Christmas and here everyone is visiting me!  Jake flew in last night and I picked him up from the airport.  Today my parents were at a wedding in the San Jose area and then drove up to Santa Rosa to stay the rest of the weekend here.  Mom took me and Jake to dinner at the Mexican restaurant up the street.  It's amazing how convenient it is to have so much just within walking distance of my house.  I grew up always having to drive everywhere.  Being able to have a short walk to and from dinner is a pleasure!

It was a busy weekend.  The four of us went to the coddingtown Macy's in search of my Christmas present from my parents.  I knew I needed a new bedspread or duvet cover and I really wanted a juicing machine of my own.  I was in luck, they had both just like I wanted and at a sale price my parents were willing to go for.  YAY!  Thanks Mom & Dad for the early Christmas presents; they'll go to excellent use!

We had a nice time playing cards and Jake even had some time to take a recipe for health bars that Amanda had sent me and make them.  They were good, but drier than we'd expected.  Almost like we missed an ingredient or something!?  In the picture is Jake preparing the health bars and at the top is the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University all light up with the holiday season colors.

Before I knew it, we were piled into the explorer to drive Jake to the airport.  When we got back, Dad stayed home and had his dinner.  Mom and I walked across the street to the Indian restaurant.  I'd never been; I was happily surprised by their delicious selection.  The next day Mom & Dad headed back home to Idaho.  It was wonderful having them here.

One of my Favorite Dinners

I don't enjoy cooking as much as I enjoy eating.  Therefore I have only a handful of go-to dinners.  One of my favorite is to cook up some organic ravioli with some organic sauce and open a bottle of red wine.  I sprinkle rather liberally red cayenne pepper over the dish and often add slices of avocado.  It just makes for a really delicious, relaxing and enjoyable evening!

Amanda's Cauliflower Appetizer

Today I went over to Amanda's house for some cooking and dinner.  We started off by making the pumpkin secret cookies with a bag of organic spice cake mix.  She had some fun designs such as gingerbread men and Christmas trees to form the cookies.  Some of them we just made like normal.  They turned out very good!  For dinner she tried a new cauliflower appetizer that was absolutely amazing!  You drizzle some olive oil over a fresh cauliflower and a little bit of sea salt.  Then you bake it for a while but only until it starts to brown.  Then you serve with a dipping sauce and it's an appetizer/discussion piece that's fun and tasty!  Not sure I'm brave enough to bake one on my own, but maybe one day I'll try!

The Pumpkin Secret

Jake taught me a cooking secret with organic pumpkin puree.  You take 1 box of any of your favorite cake mix and 1 can of pumpkin puree and mix them together, then bake just like you normally would.  This little trick omits the egg, oil, butter, etc and produces the most moist cookies ever!  Plus they have a hint of pumpkin; love this tasty idea.  Thanks Jake!

The Graton Casino

I flew home this morning from my Thanksgiving vacation in Boise.  As I was driving back north from Oakland to Santa Rosa, I thought I'd stop in at the new Graton Casino in Rohnert Park.  I'd heard they have very good food and a lot of options.  Also, I was thinking of taking my staff here for a Holiday lunch so thought I'd scope it out.  I decided to eat at Tony's of North Beach, a pizza place.  The food and drinks were a little pricey, but the quality made up for it!  I had a Margarita pizza and mixed drink.  I was also glad the smoke from the patrons of the casino didn't come into the dinning area of the restaurant.  I really enjoyed myself and am looking forward to bringing my employees here for lunch.

Thanksgiving Week

This Thanksgiving, like many before it, I traveled  back to Boise to spend it with my family.  It was a fun surprise to see Shandra Jeffries on the same flight with me.  I saved her a seat and we caught up with each other on the way to Boise.  I flew in Tuesday night and Jake picked me up.

Wednesday I spent the day getting errands done, got my teeth cleaned, deposited the HOA checks and made some account updates.  That night Jake and I went over to Chuck and Emily's house for some games and drinks.  Jake and Chuck did a great job of polishing off the southern comfort!

Thursday morning, Thanksgiving day, Jake and I headed downtown Boise for the turkey trot.  It's a short 5K race run/walk.  We met up with Damian, his sister and Mom.  When the race started I jogged off on my own and the others jog/walked.  Jake ended up jogging quite a bit of the race.  It was a fun race because as  I was running it I would run into people I knew from Boise and I'd be like "Hey there!" and shock them.  Haha!  Both Mat Johnston and Jim Cauthen were two of the people I surprised.

Then it was time to help get turkey dinner prepared.  As always, by the time everything was set and ready people had already showed up, greeted each other and sat down for my Dad's moment to share his thoughts with the family.  This year he introduced Jake and put him on the spot to say something about himself- sorry Jake!  My Mom got really animated this year in response to something my Dad had said so I snapped a few pictures, she's so cute!
It was wonderful that our good friend Alice could join us again this year.  Whenever she can make it, we're glad to have her!

Emily sent me this picture we'd taken together and I liked it a lot so I'm including it here.
Friday Jake had to work in Pocatello, so Damian and I went along with him.  While Jake was working Damian and I checked out the Museum of Clean.  The gentleman who created it is famous for his books on cleaning and his expansive collection of historical cleaning items.  It was really insane how many and what dated items he had inside this massive restored building.  He was onsite and eager to show anyone around the facility and talk to them about the history of clean.

Saturday I went on a jog along the greenbelt.  Zombies or my phone, something glitched out so I had to enter most of the rest of the jog manually.  After cleaning up, I met up with two of my best friends; Katie and Jenn for lunch at Bacon, a new restaurant downtown Boise.  They served delicious bloody mary drinks!  (of course, with a bit of bacon on top!)

That afternoon I brought my Christmas tree over to Chuck and Emily's house and Emily and Jake went to work setting it up.  They made very quick work of it, despite some of the branches not being labeled how we thought they should be.

Then Chuck, Emily, Jake and me went to Casey and Kari's house to hangout with them and their newest addition to the family; Cooper.  He was very cute and Emily sure enjoyed holding him.  It was a nice evening of horderves, wine and games.

For the remaining few days Jake and I stopped in for breakfast at Raedeans and I treated myself to one of their amazing cinnamon rolls.  We met up with Andrej for drinks and dinner at Barrel House where I snapped a picture of him inadvertently using the Women's room instead of the Men's.  HA!  That was pretty funny.  It was a lovely Thanksgiving Holiday with those I hold dear.  Glad I'll be back in just a few weeks for Christmas!

Catching Fire!

No, not the theater, the movie!  Tonight I met up with co-workers and friends in the IT department at Old Chicago in Petaluma to send off Niko who has accepted a position on the east coast.  I'm excited for him and his wife as they look at this new opportunity.

After dinner I headed up to meet Amanda at the Roxy Theater in Santa Rosa.  We were set to watch Catching Fire!  It was very good and Amanda even said "It was worth getting home after 11pm, which I haven't done in years!" haha!

Saturday I went over to Debbie and Mike's house for dinner, except I got the plans confused and I stopped off for dinner first because I thought we were only doing drinks... whooops!  It was painful having a full stomach and not being able to eat any of the delicious fixing's Mike had prepared!  Ugh!  Oh well, the drinks were delicious the company was a blast!

Sunday Trisha, Jeff and I jogged around Spring lake and then met up to watch Catching Fire!  Twice in opening weekend?  Sure, why not!?   I sure do enjoy the Hunger Games trilogy.

Yay Snow, Before Thanksgiving!

Friday night I flew into Boise for another fun-filled weekend with my Boyfriend Jake and my family.  It's hard to believe how much we do in just a few days!  This time Boise greeted me with snow- and before Thanksgiving.
Yes I was prepared with gloves and all, so no worries there.  First things first; Jake and I met up with Javier at Big City Coffee in the linen district of downtown Boise.  This is a favorite of ours, they have huge delicious portions of all types of foods.  After breakfast, Jake and I stumbled across musical stationary bikes installed for the enjoyment of the people of Boise.

We ended up at one of the Farmer's Markets.  I was totally impressed by the massive variety and talent of the art pieces.  This particular picture captures a variety of pickled items.  It made me think of Emma who loves her pickling skills!
That evening Jake took me to the Village at Meridian.  He'd been talking about it and how nice it was with the Bellagio style fountains and fine drinks and dinning.    My gosh- it's spectacular!
The dancing fountains were designed by the same person who designed the dancing fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.  They change color and shoot water in sync with the music.  A fun visual artistic piece to watch as you stroll around the lake surrounded by restaurants and the cinema.

Jake had dinner reservations for us at Kona Grill.  This place is faaaancy!  There's bubbling water walls with ambient blue lighting and chic music playing.  Of course what matters the most is the delicious food!  Great choice, Jake!

Sunday morning Jake dropped me off at the Marigold & Glenwood greenbelt access spot so that I could go for a run.  I ran Zombies, Run! mission 26 "Panic" and then mission 27 "Hello" for a total of about 11 miles.  Love my greenbelt jogging!

That afternoon was cards at my parents house with Jake, Chuck and Emily.  Chuck and Emily had a surprise for me!
Casey and I will be Chuck's best men and Emily's sisters Abby and Julie will be her maids of honor.  Hard to believe they're getting married in just about 6 months- Yikes!  ^_^

It was a full-packed weekend in Boise, and I loved every minute of it!

Running Spring Lake

Living next to Howarth Park, Spring Lake Park and Annadel an adjoined state park has been a dream come true!  I used to drive 25 minutes to meet Trisha and Irene here for our weekend jogs.  The fact that I can step out of my house now and go for a run along the paths and around the lakes makes me feel like the luckiest person on earth!  A good run from my house around the two lakes, Lake Ralphine and Spring Lake is right on 5 miles - it's perfect!  You can see this particular run where I took the pictures on my Runkeeper page.  Also, here's a map of the route.

Wine & Vodka Night

Tonight Emily Seguine invited everyone over to her place for some chili she made and to enjoy some ice wine with vodka and frozen grapes.  I wasn't so sure about this idea; mixing wine and vodka?  Oh my gosh is it amazing!  Had a lot of fun with Emily, Megan, Tiffany and Katelynn as we enjoyed the mixed drinks and company.  I can't wait to try out this idea with one of my ice wines.

A Sonoma Saturday

This morning I dropped Trisha's Jeff off at the eye doctor's in Rohnert Park.  While he was having his eyes dilated I stopped off at the new Starbucks on Commerce.  It was crazy busy!  I enjoyed my favorite CDL (Cinnamon Dulce Latte) and a scone.  I picked Jeff up after and took him back home- he wasn't supposed to drive due to the procedure.

Then I headed back up to my place got on my motorcycle and headed over to the city of Sonoma to take Savannah to the park with Amanda.  Savannah just couldn't get enough of the swinging- she tired me out!  Such a beautiful little girl.
On my way back home I drove around through some of the side roads off Sonoma Highway 12 and stopped several times to take pictures.  The sun was so bright and the fall leaves were just beautiful.  Here's some of the pictures I took.
This evening I'm going over to Debbie and Mike's house for snacks and drinks.  What a lovely Sonoma Saturday!

The SSU Student Center

Today was a soft-launch opening of the new Sonoma State University Student Center and specifically "The Kitchens".  Amanda and I walked over and sampled the food from the various "Kitchens".  The place was looking really nice!  I think we enjoyed the over-sized salad bar the most, although the Mongolian BBQ was very good.  In the large open space before going to the food area you can see Amanda standing front of the gas fire place with the lights hanging down from above.  The venue is another gem for our campus and we're so lucky to have it!

Moving Weekend!! And Tainted Love!

No rest for me - just because last night was the Halloween party with drinks and frivolity gotta keep on moving.  Literally- today the movers are packing up my items and moving them to my new condo in Santa Rosa!  Here are the pictures of moving day and my new place pre-move in.

Having the movers was the best few hundred bucks I've ever spent.  The week leading up to the move I packed everything up in boxes and put all my furniture and boxes in the garage.  They came, picked up the items and moved them to my new place.  During the move Jake and I got to break for lunch while the movers just kept working.  Easiest Move Ever.  Big thanks to Jake for all the help he gave me helping organize before hand, moving things during the week and then unpacking.  So glad he was here for a full week!

After a day of moving it was time to get ready and meet up with the ladies in Petaluma for the Tainted Love concert!  It was totally packed and full of people all decked out 80's style.  What a fun night with some great friends!

Halloween

Jake flew in for another California visit Wednesday night and doesn't leave until next Wednesday- a nice long visit!  Tonight we went out to one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Cotati, Tiny Thai.  It literally is a tiny Thai house.  There's three tables inside with a small seated bar for 2 people.  Jake had the pad Thai and I had my favorite; green curry with chicken.

After dinner it was time to get ready for the Halloween party at the B street house (Where Katelynn lived when going to SSU).  Some of her friends still live there so it's a great place for everyone to meet up and have a party!  There were some great costumes; of course I just recycled my costume using an old favorite "Batman".  I also had costumes to spare for Jake and we dressed him up as the scarecrow; complete with makeup.  There was a slew of super-hero themed costumes.  From Left to right there's Brian, Katelynn, Ross, Mike.
It was a fun night with beer pong, mixed drinks and Jake being an angel driving us home in the end.

A few runs back to back to back

This morning I headed over to Trisha and Jeff's place off Stony Point for a trail jog behind their house along the 12- one of our normal routes.  For some reason I was up earlier than usual and posted a bit strip about how I didn't want to wait until 8am!  When I got there Jeff showed me the new games on his gamin console and before I knew it we were playing and Trisha snapped the picture of us gaming instead of running.  After we ran 6 miles (3 miles out, 3 back) then I ran it again playing Zombies, Run!  It was a fun morning.

First Six Miles with Trisha and Jeff
Third Three Miles S2-S10/War Is The Answer
Fourth Three Miles S2-M19/No Future

Bitstrips

I saw my friends Hannah and Chelsea posting cartoon-like images of themselves a while back and thought they were really cool.  I looked into it more and found out there's an app called "Bitstrips" that you can create your own look-a-like avatar that you can put into a customizable situation complete with speaking bubbles, facial expressions and daunting text along the bottom.  I've had fun with it for a while now posting pictures with me and Jake or an exasperation such as when the gym was closed.  It's cute.  It's fun.  Wonder how long it'll stick around?

Global Climate Change

Even though this video was made back in 2007 this was the first time I'd seen it.  For many years now I've been a strong advocate of taking action on climate change.  Primarily with focus on recycling and carbon emissions.  The way he frames the decision point helps to frame it in a way people on any side of the facts could understand.  Let's take ACTION!

Healdsburg Half Marathon

This last Thursday Jake flew to California for our third visit in as many weeks.  One of the memorable moments from this visit is that I introduced Jake to the California It's-It.  One of their flavors is a chocolate chip with mint ice cream; I knew it'd be Jake's favorite and he did in fact enjoy it very much.
Thanks for letting me take a surprise photo!  Saturday night we went over to Katelynn and Brian's house for drinks with friends.  It was a nice night, Emily Sequine introduced me and Jake to a chocolate covered caramel treat on a cookie that is made by Trader Joe's - Yum!

Sunday morning was my Healdsburg half marathon race- one of my top 5 favorite races for sure.  At the end, they serve you wine with your medal!
Jake was a sweetheart to not only wait for me while I ran for two hours but he also took pictures of me at the finish; thanks!!!  Sweet treats, drinks with friends, running a half marathon all with my boyfriend here- I'd say my weekend couldn't get any better than that!

Boise Again!?

Yes.  I was just here last weekend but this trip was a must-do because my good friend from Boise High School, Amanda Craig is getting married!  I flew in Friday this trip and was greeted by my parents.  and that evening Jake and I went to the Boise LGBTQ Democratic Caucus event at Solid.  There were a few people I knew there from years past.  It was great seeing Matthew Montoya and catching up with him.  I bid in the silent auction and even won a few things!  Then we were off to Amanda's wedding meet and greet at Beside Bardenay.  It was so nice to see Amanda again after all these years and give her a great big hug and Congratulations in person!

Saturday morning Jake and I went to Andrej's house for brunch.  We poured ourselves a drink and made a toast to our friend Ashley who was in the Caribbean getting married to Jeremy.
Then Andrej took us to BodyBuilding.com for a personal tour of their new complex!  It is quite a building and seems like a very comfortable and motivational place to work!  All their cubes were open style and grouped in work teams.  The gym was amazing and also fully stocked with all sorts of supplements.  Andrej seems very happy here.
After the tour Jake and I headed over to Valley View retirement community to congratulate my Dad's Uncle Mont on his birthday.  Most of the family who live in Boise were able to make it.  It's become a family tradition now to get together for Mont's birthday.  Hard to believe he's not far from reaching 100!

Following Mont's birthday celebration we went to Amanda's wedding which is being held at the Boise Train Depot!  Such a gorgeous afternoon for an outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour on the train depot steps and then dinner inside organized by cities and airlines.  Very creative!  It was a very enjoyable dinner, we were seated next to some friends of theirs from Virginia.  I couldn't help myself- so I asked about the politics going on there lately with Governor Ultra-sound and boy did the conversation pick up!  I was very grateful for the intelligent conversation about current politics; yes, I had FUN!
After all the festivities we got to go up the tower of the depot and look out over the city.  It was a beautiful night and so glad I spent it with Jake!  We couldn't stay for the evening, we headed out to meet up with Chuck and Emily at their house.  We played board games and hung out it was a very nice Saturday evening in Boise.

Sunday we met at my parent's house for lunch and played cards.  Before I knew it the weekend had come and gone again and I was off to California once more.  No tears though, Jake is visiting me next weekend!

A Boise Visit

This October is full of travel!  Between me and Jake we have FOUR round trip flights scheduled.  Phew.  Blogging fingers get ready; it's going to be a busy typing month!  The first Thursday in October I flew to Boise for the weekend.  I enjoyed all the time I got to spend with Jake, Chuck, Emily and my family.

Friday I got up and ran - always glad when I can get a jog in on my vacation trips.  Today's mission was S2-M17/Toxic.  Jake surprised me with a lunch at Shangri-La Tea Room and Vegetarian Cafe!  My wrap was delicious and neither of us left a spot on our plates.  We split a ginger drink that had a nice kick to it.  That night we went to a place called 10 Barrel.  Jake and Damian enjoy going whenever they can.  I was really impressed with the place and look forward to coming back again next weekend!

Saturday we got up after a lazy morning and went to one of the Boise Farmer's Markets downtown.  We took several pictures and Jake said that the rustic Idaho images on the old boards gave him some crafting ideas.
After the market Jake and I headed out to 3 Horse Ranch with Emily where she took this picture of me and Jake.

That evening Casey and Kari came over to Chuck and Emily's place and we got to see little Cooper!  Such an adorable little baby.  What lucky parents!
That evening Damian picked me and Jake up at his house and we went out to 10 Barrel.  I had a large salad with ranch and Jake had the same salad but with a vinaigrette.  We all split the nachos and enjoyed some beers.  Then we went out to the balcony for dancing and drinks.  The last thing I remembered was Andrew the bar tender handing me a drink and saying "I love ya Man".  I woke up in Jake's house around 2 am and every half hour after that I was throwing up.  Until finally around 9 am I told Jake I had to get to the Emergency room.  What an awful morning!  I couldn't stop throwing up; even after my stomach was emptied my body just wouldn't stop!  Fortunately I got an iv in and was replenished with fluids and they gave me something to stop the nausea.  What a rough Sunday.  I moved my flight home to Monday morning (thanks Southwest!) and used the rest of Sunday to rest up.  Thanks Jake and my parents for being there for me.  It's going to be some time before I can eat at 10 Barrel again or have wine, then beer, then hard alcohol.  I'm not in my twenties anymore!
